Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl' returned to No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, powered by the release of its 'Encore' edition. The album's surge from No. 23 to the top spot was driven by four new singles that all debuted in the ARIA Singles Chart top five, giving Swift a chart double with 'Patient Zero' landing at No. 1.

The Encore edition includes the tracks 'Patient Zero', 'Pink Clouding', 'Babylon', and 'Cleveland!'. All four songs entered the singles chart in a single week. The album is distributed via Republic/Universal.

Patient Zero claims No. 1 single and dethrones Ella Langley

'Patient Zero' debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, displacing Ella Langley’s four-time platinum country hit 'Choosin’ Texas' from the top spot. Langley's Sony-released smash fell to No. 2.

Swift's other new tracks filled out the upper tier of the chart. 'Cleveland!' entered at No. 3, 'Babylon' at No. 4, and 'Pink Clouding' at No. 5. Another Swift track, 'The Fate of Ophelia', also climbed from No. 14 to No. 10 this week after previously logging six weeks at No. 1 in October and November.

Swift’s ARIA milestones continue to grow

The No. 1 single marks Swift’s second chart-topper in Australia in 2025. Her first was 'I Knew It, I Knew You' from Toy Story 5, which logged one week at No. 1 in June. The charts compiler stated that "Swift has now accumulated 69 top 10 hits on the ARIA Singles Chart."

Her album dominance is equally formidable. Across her career, Taylor Swift has accumulated more than 70 weeks at No. 1 on the national albums survey. This dates back to 2010 with 'Speak Now', which spent one week at No. 1.

This chart return comes despite a recent statement from Swift herself. She appeared on the New Heights podcast and said, 'There are no other songs coming… This is 12. There's not a 13th, there's not other ones coming.' The 'Encore' edition was released almost a year after the original album, which debuted with 4.002 million equivalent album units in the U.S. And became the first to occupy all of the top 12 spots on the Billboard Hot 100.

Other notable debuts shape the week’s ARIA Chart

Beyond Swift's dominance, several other artists made significant ARIA Chart entries this week. The top new album release was Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin’s 'The Gem' at No. 5. Released via Remote Control Records, this fourth LP was the best-selling vinyl album of the week and marks Jacklin’s third top 10 appearance on the all-genres ARIA Chart.
