Zach Bryan released the eight-song EP 'Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs' on October 16, 2024. The Oklahoma singer-songwriter's new project features high-profile collaborations with Lana Del Rey and the Turnpike Troubadours.

The tracklist is as follows:

TrackTitleFeature
1Lodi When
2Robot Killed The Working Man
3LiesLana Del Rey
5Walk Backwards
6PlainsmanTurnpike Troubadours
7Is The Blue Tangled In You?

The EP has a runtime of approximately 28 minutes. Zach Bryan solely wrote all songs.

Musical style and influences

The EP shows a wide array of musical textures and references. The track 'You'll Get By' carries a musical vibe reminiscent of The Rolling Stones' 'Wild Horses'. In contrast, 'Robot Killed the Working Man' opens with a sample of wrestler Dusty Rhodes' famous 1985 speech about hard times.

Bryan incorporates diverse instrumentation throughout. 'Plainsman' features violin, cello, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo, with Bryan and Evan Felter of the Turnpike Troubadours trading off lead vocals. The collaboration with Lana Del Rey, 'Lies', is built on a foundation of swelling violins and cellos. Bryan's own harmonica playing is featured on 'Dog Days', which also includes what sound like a few dog barks.

Literary and cinematic nods are present. 'Dog Days' opens with a spoken line from the 2012 film 'The Place Beyond the Pines'. The track 'Lodi When' references Creedence Clearwater Revival's song 'Lodi'.

Context from Bryan’s recent work and career

This release continues a period of intense productivity for Bryan. It follows his album 'With Heaven on Top', which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated January 24, 2026. That album contained 25 songs and was released less than a year before this EP. After its release, Bryan performed acoustic renditions of every track from 'With Heaven On Top'.

Bryan has built a reputation for notable collaborations. His duet with Kacey Musgraves, 'I Remember Everything', topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023. He has also previously worked with Bruce Springsteen and The War and Treaty. Pitchfork ranked his song 'Pink Skies' at No. 79 in The 100 Best Songs of 2024.

Release and promotion

Bryan announced the EP during an August tour stop in Salt Lake City. He had teased the music earlier, posting snippets of two new songs on YouTube in early July 2026, though they were later deleted. A longer version of 'Lodi When' appeared on his official YouTube channel on July 3rd, 2026.

The album cover, which Bryan posted on Instagram, features him standing in a field pointing a shotgun at a smiling image of himself about twelve feet away. Another shared image showed song titles coming out of the gun's barrel. Alongside the cover, Bryan added a personal note to fans: "Love you guys very much and hope you enjoy it." The EP is released on Belting Bronco Records / Warner Records Inc.

Looking ahead, Zach Bryan has announced plans for a 2027 tour across North America and Australia. It kicks off in April in Minneapolis. The tour will alternate opening acts from a roster including Vance Joy, Emma Ogier, and Gabriella Rose. Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty is scheduled to appear as a 'special guest' on a few dates.
