Branch and Morris Release Laguna Beach 'Goodbye to You' Duet

Michelle Branch and Maren Morris have released a full duet version of Branch's 2002 hit 'Goodbye to You.' The collaboration arrives with a nostalgic, Laguna Beach-themed music video featuring reality TV star Kristin Cavallari. The track is the second confirmed song from Branch's forthcoming EP, 'Everywhere and Back Again,' which celebrates her 25-year career and is scheduled for release on November 6 via BMG.

The accompanying video directly recreates the prom scene from MTV's early 2000s series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Cavallari, who rose to fame on that show, appears alongside the two Grammy-winning artists. Iconic moments from the series are revisited, including the appearance of a Mojito! Lime green Jeep Wrangler complete with a goldfish on the dashboard. The new recording is a full duet where Branch and Morris trade lines about change, independence, and letting go, rather than a straight re-recording of the original.

Kristin Cavallari called the shoot a fun, full-circle experience. "'Goodbye to You' is one of those songs that immediately takes me back to a very specific time in my life," she said. Michelle Branch expressed her admiration for Morris's take. "Beyond thrilled to be joining Maren on her beautiful rendition of 'Goodbye to You,'" Branch stated. Maren Morris noted that Branch encouraged her to make the song her own while honoring the original's brilliance. The two artists performed the duet live last month at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

The track is part of a career-spanning EP celebrating 25 years

The duet serves as the second confirmed track from Michelle Branch's EP 'Everywhere and Back Again.' The project marks 25 years in music for Branch and features newly reimagined recordings of her hit songs with guest collaborators from across genres. The EP launched earlier this year with a reworked version of 'The Game of Love' featuring Gregg Alexander. It revisits songs, stories, and cultural moments from throughout Branch's catalog.

Branch’s sold-out tour expands due to overwhelming demand

Branch is launching the Everywhere and Back Again Tour, a nearly 20-date fall run beginning September 27, 2026. The initial leg sold out nationwide within one week of its announcement, leaving thousands of fans on waitlists. In response to the overwhelming demand, a 17-date second leg has been added for 2027.
