Musixmatch Launches Pro for Labels Platform
Musixmatch has launched Musixmatch Pro for Labels, a hub designed to help record companies manage and distribute lyrics at scale.

Musixmatch has launched a new platform built specifically for record labels. Called Musixmatch Pro for Labels, the hub is designed to help companies manage, enrich, and distribute lyrics at scale to support music discovery and deeper fan engagement, according to the company.
The launch on September 2 targets labels ranging from independents with small rosters to organizations managing thousands of artists. It arrives as labels compete for audience attention on streaming platforms. Musixmatch cites MIDiA Research finding that 77% of label respondents believe it is becoming harder to retain audience and fan interest. Musixmatch says listeners who engage deeply with lyrics and music creation are nearly four times more likely to buy merchandise, and twice as likely to attend live shows.
Rio Caraeff, Co-President at Musixmatch, argues that lyrics are key to building lasting fan relationships. "You don't build lasting fan relationships simply by asking people to listen more, you build them by giving people more intimacy and emotion to connect with," Caraeff said. He stated that lyrics turn a passing listen into a personal connection. "That's why we built Musixmatch Pro for Labels, to help labels unlock more value from their repertoire and by giving fans more emotive ways to connect with the music and artists they love."
The Platform's Core Functions
For label teams, managing lyrics across thousands of tracks often involves significant manual work. Compiling, synchronizing, translating, and distributing lyrics across multiple artists adds to that load, and gaps in a catalog can be difficult to spot.
Musixmatch says Pro for Labels brings AI transcription and time-syncing, expert curation, global distribution, and catalog intelligence together in one place. A catalog audit feature identifies gaps and areas needing action across a label's repertoire. Teams can create and synchronize lyrics, even ahead of a song's release, manage translations, and distribute lyrics across Musixmatch Pro's network of supported DSPs and social platforms.
These processes can be automated using Musixmatch's AI technology or managed by its team of professional curators. Labels can also create lyric-driven promotional assets for digital and social channels through the platform.
Analytics and Industry Context
An analytics dashboard lets labels centralize streaming information and compare artist performance by channel and geography. Through catalog analytics and Music Lens, an agentic AI launched in November, teams can ask questions, surface insights, and identify opportunities across their music.
More than 400 labels were onboarded during the product's beta phase. The launch follows demand from more than 1,000 record labels already using Musixmatch Pro to manage their artist rosters. Musixmatch first launched Musixmatch Pro in 2021 when it expanded into distribution.
The company, based in Bologna, has developed music data and technology for over 16 years. It says its verified music database is trusted by more than 250,000 rights owners and music publishers, and nearly three million songwriters, across more than 250 languages.
Broader AI Initiatives
Musixmatch's recent moves include significant AI licensing agreements. In October 2025, the company signed deals with Sony Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group, and Warner Chappell Music, covering more than 15 million musical works.
It then launched Sentinel in March 2026, a service that detects when copyrighted lyrics are used in AI and user-generated content. AI music platform Suno became the first customer of Sentinel in August 2026. For Suno, Musixmatch says Sentinel will provide greater visibility into copyrighted material within user prompts, informing the AI company's moderation, compliance, and product decisions.
