Mission Of Burma Reunites For Surprise Set, Roger Clark Miller Announces New Solo Album
Boston art-punk band Mission Of Burma played a surprise reunion set, and frontman Roger Clark Miller is set to release a new solo album, The Green Man

Mission Of Burma, the influential Boston art-punk band, has been inactive in recent years, but they recently played a surprise reunion set. The band, which formed in 1979, has a significant history in indie rock, with their early records, such as the 1981 EP Signals, Calls And Marches and the 1982 album Vs., leaving a lasting impact.
## Background Mission Of Burma's live shows and early records have been widely acclaimed, and they are often cited as a key influence on the development of indie rock. The band first broke up in 1983 due to frontman Roger Miller's tinnitus but reunited in the 2000s and released several well-received albums.
## Recent Activity Earlier this year, Mission Of Burma played a four-song set at the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as a benefit for their friend Jeff "Monoman" Conolly, who was suffering from cancer at the time. Conolly, the former frontman of garage-punk legends the Lyres, passed away on July 31 at the age of 69. Last week, the band played another surprise set, this time as a trio at Brighton Music Hall in Brighton, Massachusetts, as part of a 25th-anniversary celebration for local label Fenway Records.
## New Solo Album In addition to his work with Mission Of Burma, Roger Clark Miller has been involved in various other projects, including his current group Trinary System, and has released several solo records. His new solo album, The Green Man, is set to be released on September 18 on Don Giovanni. The album's opener, "I Live In A Forest," is an idiosyncratic, psychedelic track that showcases Miller's unique songwriting style. According to Miller, the song is "basically a snapshot of my life at present, perhaps stream of consciousness, or perhaps merely musings on being alive?"
