The song 'Pigwig' is about falling hopelessly in love, but some of the lyrics make the person sound severely irritating. Frontman Kele Okereke describes the song as recalling a memory of a romantic seaside trip at the most magical point of their relationship.

According to Okereke, the song "Pigwig" is about the moment of realizing that you have been hit by a very big love, almost as if it's against your will. The song's title is inspired by the Beatrix Potter character, after the partner of Pigling Bland, an inside joke that meant a lot to the couple at the time.

Bloc Party's new album 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance' is set to be released on 9/11 on cOnTAGIOUS LTD/Virgin. The album was recorded with veteran mega-pop producer Trevor Horn.
