Carly Rae Jepsen and Lena Dunham Team Up for 10 Things I Hate About You Broadway Musical
Carly Rae Jepsen and Lena Dunham are collaborating on a new musical based on the 1999 high-school rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You. The production is set to open next year with a star-studded creative team.

Carly Rae Jepsen is returning to Broadway, but this time as a composer rather than an actress. The Canadian singer-songwriter made her Broadway debut in 2014 playing the lead role in the musical Cinderella.
Jepsen is teaming up with actress and writer Lena Dunham to adapt the beloved 1999 high-school rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You into a musical. Dunham and Jessica Huang are handling the book, while Jepsen is co-writing the songs with Ethan Gruska.
The creative team behind the musical is impressive, with Christopher Wheeldon set to direct and Tom Kitt handling the arrangements, orchestrations, and music supervision. Wheeldon won a Tony Award for his work on MJ The Musical, while Kitt has also received a Tony Award for his work.
The cast and theater for the musical have not been announced yet, but it is expected to open next year with preview performances scheduled for August 17, 2027.
In related news, Jepsen is set to release a new double album called Day And Night next month. The album will feature three advance singles: "On Wires," "After All," and "Don't Leave Me On The Dance Floor."
