Andy Shauf Announces 10th Anniversary Edition of The Party with Previously Unreleased Tracks

Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his concept album The Party with a deluxe reissue featuring previously unreleased tracks.

Andy Shauf is marking a decade since the release of his breakthrough album The Party with a special 10th-anniversary edition. The Canadian singer-songwriter's concept album, which tells the story of different people at a party, has been a fan favorite since its release in 2016.

The Party (10th Anniversary Edition) will feature a slew of demos, as well as three finished tracks that were left off the original LP. This bonus material will also be available separately as a standalone EP called the afterparty.

Shauf has shared an essay about the project on his website, reflecting on the album's creation and its themes of shame and self-discovery. He notes that the album was written during a period of his life when he was struggling with his own personal demons, including a drinking problem.

In the essay, Shauf also expresses gratitude for the support of his friends and collaborators, including Jon Bartlett, Josh Daignault, Avery Kissick, Meghan Fenske, and Colin Nealis, who arranged the strings on the record.

The afterparty EP will feature alternate versions of songs from The Party, as well as a few tracks that didn't make the original cut. The EP will include songs like "Angela the Traveller" and "Losing," which were early versions of songs that were eventually reworked for the final album.

The Party (10th Anniversary Edition) and the afterparty EP will be released on October 16 on ANTI-.
